Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party suffered a major setback just before the next year’s Delhi polls as it’s former MLA Gugan Singh joined the saffron party on Monday.
The leader had fought the Lok Sabha elections as an AAP candidate this year. Gugan Singh joined the Bhartiya Janta Party in the presence of Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, MP Parvesh Verma, state unit party chief Manoj Tiwari, and MP Vijay Goel.

Gugan Singh was a Bhartiya Janta Party member from Bawana constituency. But in 2017, he had joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) before Bawana by-election in presence of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. After that, he fought the 2019 Lok Sabha polls from Northwest Delhi seat against BJP candidate Hans Raj Hans but lost it. Now, he is back to his original party.
Many leaders had left AAP this year because of various reasons. Delhi elections are going to be held next year and it is very much likely that this might affect the party’s popularity. Earlier, Alka Lamba had also quit the party over the difference with the party’s top leadership.
