Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Candidate from Delhi East Gautam Gambhir on Tuesday dismissed the allegations levelled by AAP of having two voter ID cards, Cricketer-turned-politician replying to a query by a scribe said that he has only one voter ID Card and that is from Rajendra Nagar Assembly of the national capital.

“I have only one voter-ID, from Rajendra Nagar. I don’t have any other voter-ID,” Gautam Gambhir said on Tuesday.

Earlier on April 25, AAP launched a fresh salvo at BJP East Delhi Candidate Gautam Gambhir and accused him of having two voter ID Cards. Aam Aadmi Party Candidate from Delhi East Lok Sabha Seat Atishi on Friday took to Twitter and accused Gambhir of having two voter ID Cards.

“My appeal to the citizens of East Delhi Lok Sabha – pls don’t waste your vote by voting for @GautamGambhir; he is going to get sooner or later for having two Voter ID cards! Don’t waste your vote! #GambhirApradh,” said AAP Candidate Atishi in a tweet.

AAP alleged that Gambhir possesses two voter ID Cards – one from Karol Bagh and one from Rajendra Nagar. Atishi had last week filed a criminal complaint in the trial court against cricketer & BJP candidate Gautam Gambhir on the issue. Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court to hear the matter on May 1.

Gautam Gambhir had on March 22 joined Bharatiya Janata Party in presence of Union Minister Arun Jaitley. He has been named by the party from Delhi East Lok Sabha Seat. He is pitched against AAP’s Atishi and Congress nominee Arvinder Singh Lovely.

Atishi and Gautam Gambhir had been in a war of words on Twitter with former challenged the BJP Nominee for a Debate. ‘. I told us what we did in 5 years. Now is your turn, tell you that: 1. What did your party MP ji do for East Delhi in 5 years? 2. What did you do for East Delhi in 5 years that the BJP gave you a ticket from here?,’ said Atishi in a tweet.

Earlier, Gautam Gambhir has been booked by the Poll Commission for allegedly violating the model code of conduct. He had held a rally without permission in Jangpura Assembly segment of the Delhi East parliamentary seat.

Lok Sabha Polls 2019 has already begun and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23.

BJP in Delhi will be taking on Aam Aadmi Party and Congress. All 7 seats of Delhi will vote on May 12.

Gautam Gambhir in a run-up to the national elections in pitched against AAP’s Atishi, while Congress has named Arvinder Singh Lovely for the East Delhi Lok Sabha Seat.
