Just days after he was discharged from hospital for delivering Goa’s state budget, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was admitted at a local hospital yet again last evening after he complained of uneasiness.

Parrikar was rushed to Goa Medical Hospital and College in Panaji on a wheelchair with family members as he was suffering from dehydration. Here he was treated and kept under observation by hospital doctors.

The chief minister had been admitted in Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for a few days to undergo treatment for a pancreatic ailment last week. He had prepared his state’s budget there with the assistance of bureaucrats before coming back to the state secretariat to deliver it himself on 22 February.

His treatment there had been a subject of controversy as some media outlets had reported that it had led to complications and some had even gone to the extent of suggesting his demise. The hospital had been forced to issue a press release soon to explain that he was responding to treatment and was doing well.

Goa’s Health Minister Vishwajit Rane addressed reporters this morning and said that a team of specialist doctors was looking after Parrikar and that he is absolutely fine and stable.
