The Jammu and Kashmir Administration on Sunday revoked the security covers given to 5 Separatist Leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq days after Pulwama Terror Attack that claimed lived of at least 40 CRPF Personnel. The other four are Shabir Shah, Hashim Qureshi, Bilal Lone, and Abdul Ghani Bhat.

“No security cover will be provided under any pretext to these five leaders and other separatists,” a security official said on Sunday. The demand to withdraw the security to these leaders were on height since the Pulwama Terror Attack.

As per the Official release, ‘all security and vehicles provided to the separatist Leaders will stand withdrawn by Sunday evening. ‘ No security forces or cover will be provided, under any pretext, to them or any other separatists. If they have any other facilities provided by the government, they are to be withdrawn forthwith’ it stated.

Reacting on the Development Hurriyat Leader Abdul Ghani Bhat said, ‘Security was provided by state govt, I don’t need it. My security is Kashmiri people. There are chances of war b/w Pakistan & India. Let them address war issue first’.

Reacting on the withdraw of the Security, Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said in a statement, Calling it a ‘non-issue’ He said he never asked for it. “In fact, it was the government that insisted on keeping the personnel based on what they said was their assessment of threat perception. With or without these police personnel at Hurriyat residence all remains the same.” “It has no bearing nor can it in any way change the reality of the lingering Kashmir dispute or the situation on the ground or our principled stand and outlook regarding its resolution,” the statement added.

The Withdrawn of Security covers came a day after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and Director of Intelligence Bureau Rajiv Jain and took stock of the situation of the Jammu and Kashmir.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday also chaired an all-party meeting that passed a resolution that condemned the Pulwama Terror Attack. The Parties concluded that the nation expressed its determination to fight the challenges arising from cross-border terrorism.

Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday also issued an advisory to states and Union Territories to ensure the safety of Jammu and Kashmir Residents and Students living outside Jammu and Kashmir.
