The Jharkhand High Court on Friday has reserved judgement on the bail petition of RJD’s Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Yadav chief’s counsel Kapil Sibal on December 11 had appealed for bail on the health ground.

Jharkhand High Court earlier on December 21 deferred the Bail Plea filed by Jailed Lalu Prasad Yadav after the CBI Counsel said that He is yet to receive the reports on RJD Chief’s Health. Senior Lawyer Kapil Sibal appeared for Lalu Prasad Yadav.

CBI Counsel Sinha on December 21 requested the court to fix any other date for the hearing of the Bail Petition as he as not received the report on Petitioners’ health from his Doctors.

The December 11 petition by him stated that Lalu Prasad Yadav is 71 years old and is suffering from diabetes, blood pressure and other ailments. It further mentioned that he got bail in one of the four fodder scam cases, thereby seeking bail in the rest of the cases.

Lalu was convicted in fodder scam cases involving the unlawful withdrawal of money from Deoghar, Dumka, and Chaibasa. He has been jailed since December last year.

Yadav is facing fifth case pertaining to the Doranda treasury. The ‘Fodder Scam’, 1996 involves misappropriation of Funds from the treasury of the Bihar Government.
