Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday launched a fresh attack on BJP led Centre government. While addressing a Press Conference outside the Parliament Gandhi said, if his party comes to power in 2019 [Lok Sabha 2019 Elections], a criminal investigation will be launched into the Rafale deal and the accused will be punished as reported by news agency PTI.

While standing outside Parliament before the government’s reply, Congress President said, We and the entire opposition want that when defence minister speaks on the PM’s behalf, the questions raised by us should be answered.”

He also said Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley should answer his questions on the Rafale Deal instead of ‘abusing him’. Both Congress President and Union Minister were in a war of words early this week in Lok Sabha during Rafale Debate. The Congress president also asked Nirmala Sitharaman whether any objections were raised on the Rafale contract file by the negotiating team and the defence ministry.

Rahul Gandhi also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “weakening national security” and giving the defence contract to his “friend and international debt master” Anil Ambani.

Earlier this Gandhi has said that Prime Minister does not have the guts to come to the Lok Sabha and face questions Gandhi early in this tweeted four questions as a ‘Rafale Exam’.

Later, Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attacked the Opposition and said,”There is a difference between defence dealings and dealing in defence. We don’t do defence dealings. We deal in defence with national security as a priority.” She added, SC’s Rafale judgement states, “After hearing matter in detail, we find no reason for intervention on the issue of the purchase 36 aircraft. Perception of individuals cannot be basis of an inquiry. “#Rafale

“We did not mislead Supreme Court” she added.

Earlier On Wednesday Congress released an alleged audio clip of Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Pratapsingh Rane claiming Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has “All the files related to #RafaleDeal in his bedroom”.

Congress has repeatedly criticized the deal for the 36 Rafale jets, alleging that the government was procuring each aircraft at a cost of over Rs 1,670 crore as against Rs 526 crore finalized by the UPA government.

Ever Since the Supreme Court verdict came on Rafale Deal, both Congress and the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party are launching scathing attacks with the former alleging of Government misleading the Court with CAG Report while the ruling is attacking the Congress of Misleading people about the Deal for electoral gain.
