Two Terrorists have been killed by Indian armed forces on wee hours of Friday in an encounter erupted in Kupwara’s District of Jammu and Kashmir. A security personnel was also injured in the gun battle in Handwara in the north Kashmir District.
Security Forces launched a cordon and search operation in Babagund area of Kupwara after they received information about the presence of terrorists there, Officials familiar with the development said.

A Police Officer as quoted by NDTV told, ‘The hiding terrorists opened fire at the security forces, triggering an encounter’. The firing has now stopped. A search operation is underway.
Earlier on Wednesday, Two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) Terrorists were shot dead in shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir by Indian Security Forces. Jammu and Kashmir is currently facing intense tension following the Balakot Air Strikes on February 26.
In another Development, The NIA (National Investigation Agency) on Wednesday, conducted raids at the establishments of 2 JeM terrorists namely Mudassir Ahmad Khan and Sajjad Bhat, from South Kashmir. These terrorists considerably played key roles in the Pulwama Terror Attack.
The escalating tension between India and Pakistan comes a day after the Indian air strike on a terror camp in Pakistan on wee hours of Tuesday. Jammu and Kashmir saw heightened military activity on Wednesday, with Pakistani jets violating the Indian air space and dropping some bombs in the Rajouri sector after which one of their fighters was shot down.
Indian Air Force on Tuesday carried out unprecedented Air Strikes across LoC destroying Balakot JeM Terror Camp. As per reports, 12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the operation that dropped 1000 kgs of Bomb across LoC in early hours of the Tuesday, Feb 26 completely destroying the Terror Camps.
However, Pakistan hasn’t acknowledged any casualties. Countries across the world have lined up in Indian support asking Pakistan to put a check on terror camps within the country.
