It is not possible to imagine a strong and healthy society without women empowerment, says President Murmu

The President of India Droupadi Murmu said that it is not possible to imagine a strong and healthy society without women empowerment. Together we have to work towards creating an environment where all women can fully participate and contribute in the socio-economic, cultural and political spheres significantly. She graced the 31 st Foundation Day Celebrations of National Commission for Women in Delhi on Wednesday.

In addition to being a matter of social fairness, women’s empowerment is essential for economic growth. India currently has the fifth-largest economy in the world and is on track to have a $5 trillion economy. Women playing an active part would be beneficial in accomplishing this goal.

The President expressed concern about the gender ratio in various areas of the nation when discussing gender discrimination. She highlighted that changing this situation is everyone’s responsibility, not just that of the government. She stated that in order to ensure gender equality, we must create an equal framework for development.

The President noted that the mission of the National Commission for Women is to address the specific problems arising out of discrimination and atrocities against women and to strive for the empowerment of women. She stressed that only by improving the status of women, the country would be able to make overall progress.

The President was pleased to learn that the National Commission for Women is dedicated to empowering women and promoting gender equality through its ongoing efforts. She exhorted all the women to advance resolutely by overcoming all challenges. She also exhorted them to educate others about their rights and to know their own.

Union WCD Minister Smriti Zubin Irani introduced “Sashakt Nari, Sashakt Bharat,” the journey book of the Commission, and gave the Hon. President the first copy during the occasion.

The NCW, along with members of the Ministry of Women and Child Development and State Commissions as well as members and State Governments, have been working together on concerns of women, particularly women who need rescue and relief, according to Union WCD Minister Smriti Zubin Irani. She claimed that there are numerous untold stories. She stated that we are hoping that by sharing these tales, many individuals all throughout the nation would find a solution.

NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma thanked the President of India for attending the NCW event and praised her for leading an outstanding life that serves as an example for women all around the nation. She discussed the mission of the Commission and how it has benefited women from all social classes.
