To gain an electoral advantage among the voters in upcoming phases of Jharkhand elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced various promises from the party’s side in case they win the elections.

Jharkhand has recently witnessed its first phase of voting on November 30 in which voter turnout was 64.12 percent. The elections were held across 13 constituencies in the first phase.

The leader had also shared the glimpses of his rally through his Twitter account. Attacking the policies of BJP, he announced various reformative promises for the people of Jharkhand. The leader also said that the party will work towards addressing the issue of unemployment.

Addressing a rally in Simdega on Monday, Rahul Gandhi promised the farmers of hefty loan waiver and vowed to return of tribal land, which was given to industrialists. He also slammed the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party government of snatching the land away from farmers. As quoted by ANI, he said, “Wherever there is a BJP government, they take away the land from tribal people and give it to industrialists without asking them. When our government was formed in Chhattisgarh, we took back the land from Tata and returned the land to the tribal people. If the tribal land is taken and the industry is not set up within five years, the land needs to be returned to the real owners.” The leader further added that the saffron party has continuously ignored the plight of farmers.

Praising the efforts of his party’s stand towards the benefit of farmers, he said that in whichever state Congress had come to power, the party promised loan waiver for farmers and even fulfilled it. Therefore he announced to extend the similar pro-farmer policies for the population of Jharkhand. Rahul Gandhi also said that if his party forms the government in the state, he will protect the land of the farmers.

Jharkhand is undergoing the polls for 81 assembly seats and it will be conducted in five phases. The tenure for the current Jharkhand assembly will end on January 5.
