The newly elected MLA of Haryana Jind constituency Krishna Lal Middha on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. ‘Today was an Important day as I met the world’s most powerful and reputed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and took his blessings’ tweeted Krishna Middha along with their Photograph.

He added in a tweet, ‘Prime Minister has encouraged me to march ahead.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted to congratulate. “Congratulated @DrKrishanMiddha Ji for the remarkable win in Jind. Over the years, the people of Haryana have been continuously supporting BJP’s agenda of pro-people, inclusive and corruption-free development. @BJP4Haryana.

Bhartiya Janta Party‘s Candidate Krishna Lal Middha on Thursday, January 31 won Jind Bypolls in Haryana defeating Congress Randeep Surjewala and JJP’s Digvijay Singh Chautala with a margin of 12935 votes securing a total of 50566. Jannayak Janata Party (JJP)’s Candidate Digvijay Singh Chautala garners 37631 votes and Congress’ Randeep Singh Surjwala gets 22740 votes.

BJP’s Candidate Krishna Middha is the son of former MLA INLD Hari Chand Middha. The Polls in the seat necessitated after the seat had fallen vacant after the death of sitting INLD MLA Hari Chand Middha in August last year.

The voting in the seat saw a high turnout of 75.77% and was dubbed as a prestige battle for all political parties ahead of Lok Sabha Polls 2019. The defeat of Surjewala came as a major set back to a section of the Congress party which had hoped to project him as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the state assembly elections due by October-November this year.

After his Defeat in by-polls, Congress Candidate Randeep Surjewala congratulated Midhha and said, he hoped Krishan Middha and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar would fulfil the dreams of the people of Jind. He added “I was given a responsibility by the party which I fulfilled to the best of my abilities,” Randeep Singh Surjewala told media.
