Jumbotail celebrating Women's Day

Jumbotail, which claims to be organizing the food and grocery ecosystem in India using technology, data science, and design, has raised a series-A fund. The online marketplace for food and grocery has raised around ₹55.12 crore from Kalaari Capital and Nexus Venture Partners. This is the first time when Kalaari Capital has invested in the venture while Nexus Venture Partners had earlier invested ₹13 crore in the firm.

Jumbotail is founded by the Standford’s alumni Karthik Venkateswaran and Ashish Jhina in 2015. The Bangalore based startup provides a platform for wholesalers to sell their products and services online. The firm works with the kirana stores and businesses including hotels and restaurants in Bangalore, to build an efficient supply chain for ordering staples, spices, dry fruits, packaged foods, and FMCG products.

The online platform also allows traders, manufacturers and brands to sell their products through an app, which has interfaces in Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and English, for ease of use by the kirana store owners.
