In a bid to expand its organizational base nationally, TRS Chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday appointed his son and Siricilla MLA KT Rama Rao as the working President of Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS).

This move is surprising as it is for the first time in the 14-year history of the TRS that the post of working president has been created with KCR, who has been running the party single-handedly all these years. The step is believed to one among those in the way to KCR focusing on National Level Politics and upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. While KCR handing over his baton to his son. The development just came within three days of TRS returning to the power with a huge mandate in the state.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday, after his party registering a landslide victory in recently concluded state polls, announced to enter national politics.

The new national party is expected to be formed with the consortium of regional parties thus promising a ‘Non-BJP and Non-Congress‘ third front.

At the victory celebrations at the party headquarters, While addressing Media he said ‘Within the next ten days I will go to Delhi and announce the birth of a new national party, I have been in talks with many leaders, some of whom are at my residence as we talk to take this further.’

He openly declared, ‘My call is for a Congress and BJP mukt Bharat. The earnest effort will be to have a Non-Congress, Non-BJP government at the Centre in the next election.”
