Overwhelmed over a landslide victory in Telangana Assembly ElectionsTelangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) on Tuesday announced the formation of a new national party.

The new national party is expected to be formed with the consortium of regional parties thus promising a “Non-BJP, Non-Congress” federal front.

At the victory celebrations at the party headquarters, he also addressed the media and said, “Within the next ten days I will go to Delhi and announce the birth of a new national party, I have been in talks with many leaders, some of whom are at my residence as we talk to take this further.”

He openly declared, “My call is for a Congress- and BJP-mukt Bharat. The earnest effort will be to have a Non-Congress, Non-BJP government at the Centre in the next election.”

When asked if he would continue as the CM, he said, “I have not thought about it.”

Vehemently expressing his stance on national politics, he said, “There is a need for surgery; small injection will not set the plight of Indian economy and agriculture right. Telangana has shown the way. There is a need to replicate it.”

About launching a front six months ahead of elections, he assured, “I have been working on it for a long time. Everything is written out in black and white. The party we will float will have the participation of people as direct stakeholders.”

He went on to add, “The Constitution has to be amended to make it practical. The concurrent list must go and the role of the Centre and the states must be clearly defined. I have models to revive the economy and agriculture based on productivity and not merely on produce, as it’s been done (now). India has the potential to feed the world, but the Congress and BJP have failed the people”.

About AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, he described him as “the most secular person.” He also announced that the two will together tour the country to draw all minorities to a single platform.
