Days after the alleged voice tape of Lalu Yadav was released by Republic news, supreme court gave yet another setback to the RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. This decision by Supreme Court ruled out the decision of a lower court which had termed the whole conspiracy in fodder scam as one and added that Lalu can not be tried separately.

Other accused in the fodder scam, Jagannath Mishra and Sajal Chakraborty will also be liable to face trail for the much talked about case, which had shaken the politics of Bihar. Supreme Court has directed the trial court to complete proceedings within 9 months.

Lalu Prasad Yadav had already been sentenced to 5 years in Jail by a trial court in Chaibasa treasury withdrawal case.

While the hearing today, Supreme Court of India also lashed onto Jharkhand high court and alleged it to ignore settled principal of law by dropping conspiracy charges against Lalu in Deoghar treasury case. Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a plea against Jharkhand High Court for dropping conspiracy charges against RJD chief. The fodder scam related to suspicious withdrawals amounting to around ₹1000 crores by Animal Husbandry Department in Bihar while Lalu Yadav’s term as Bihar chief minister from 1990 to 1997.
