Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, A case is filed against the Punjab minister and Congress minister Navjot Singh Sidhu while he was addressing the Muslim Voters in Bihar on Tuesday appealing to them not to divide their votes and remain united against BJP for violating the Model Code of Conduct. In the meantime, BJP has also approached the Election Commission with the complaints of the Punjab minister using religious influence on the voters in the political campaign.

In his rally, Sidhu said, “I am here to warn my Muslim brothers that the ruling party is trying to divide you. By fielding Owaisi here, BJP is trying to divide your votes. I urge you people to unite and vote against them, BJP will lose and Narendra Modi will be finished.”

The cricketer-turned-politician, Navjot Singh Sidhu alleged the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi saying that he was fielded to divide the votes of the Muslim voters. He made an appeal to the Muslim Voters to vote against the BJP unitedly.

Asaduddin Owaisi responded to Sidhu’s remarks saying that Congress is no better than BJP. It had always wanted the support of the Muslim voters. He said that the leadership of the Congress party is so spineless that they could not make Sidhu stop for the Azaan. Owaisi said that they are looking forward to solving the age-old problems of the Seemanchal region in Bihar promising the people to work for al religious and caste backgrounds.

BJP also alleged Sidhu of using religious sentiments to gain the votes of the people. BJP has approached the Election Commission against Sidhu and has promised to take the necessary action if Sidhu found guilty.

Bihar will go to polls in all seven phases in the Lok Sabha elections. The results will be announced on May 23.
