Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday chaired a meeting to address the issues and demands of the Banjara community. Speaking in the meeting, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured to increase the hostel accommodation for students belonging to the Banjara community.
He also promised skill training centres for the students coming from Banjara community.
The meeting was held in Mantralaya, Mumbai and was attended by Minister Sanjay Rathod and other leaders.
The representation of the Banjara community that met Chief Minister felicitated Devendra Fadnavis. ‘Representatives from Banjara community felicitate CM @Dev_Fadnavis (Devendra Fadnavis) for fulfilling various demands like funds to Poharagad, the celebration of Sant Sevalal Birth Anniversary by Government and recommending inclusion of Banjara language in the 8th schedule to GoI’, tweeted Maharastra CMO Official Twitter handle.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also promised land for Samaj Bhavan (community centre) and positive considerations to all other demands put forward by the community representation.

While later in the day, Chief Minister launched Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Antyoday Abhiyan in Mumbai this evening. Minister Sambhaji Patil Nilagekar, Ravindra Chavan were also present along with him. CM distributed cooking gas connections symbolically to some of the beneficiaries on this occasion.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that under the Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Antyoday Abhiyan, a special drive will be undertaken between 15th July to 14th August to distribute ration cards for PDS & cooking gas connections under PM Ujwala Yojana.
