In the wake of upcoming elections to the Maharashtra assembly polls, the Election Commission of India verified the nominations of candidates. After a thorough inspection, ECI declared 798 out of the total 5543 nominations invalid.
According to the database of election watchdog, a total of 4745 candidates had been given the green signal for their nominations. The date of withdrawal of nominations is October 7 after which the final list of candidates with their alloted symbols would be issued.
Important Dates for Maharashtra Polls-
- The detailed notification will be issued on September 27.
- The filing of nominations will begin from September 27 to October 4.
- Scrutiny of applications will be done on October 5.
- Nominations withdrawal can be done till October 7.
- Elections will take place on October 21.
- Counting of votes will be done on October 24.
All the parties have released their respective lists of candidates.
