Maharashtra farmers to stage protest on 27th February

In the recent past, the whole nation has been evident to various agitation by farmers.

Last year, alone, there had been many major large scale rallies by farmers in the national capital.

The farmers from Tamil Nadu staged protest by eating their ‘excreta’ and demonstrating the skulls of their fellow farmers, who committed suicide.

In another protest, thousands of farmers gathered in Ram Leela Maidan in Delhi.

Their demand is to waive off their loans and provide them with appropriate price for their crops, along with few other demands.

Previously, they were tried to be stopped at the Delhi-NCR border by the police, using water canon and barricades, which resulted in injuries to several farmers.

The farmers blame the government and authorities of not listening to their concerns.

The farmers ‘feed’ the entire nation and they are the ones committing ‘suicide’ too.

Now, in another protest, around 50,000 farmers from Maharashtra are likely to gather in front of Maharashtra Assembly on 27 February to remind CM Devendra Fadnavis government of their promise that they ‘committed’ during another protest in March 2018.

As per PTI, All India Kisan Sabha announced the participation of 50,000 farmers from 23 districts of Maharashtra.

Their demands include, waiver of farm loans, demand for providing minimum support price, providing provisions of providing pensions to farmers, revision of water linking agreement, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission recommendations and transfer of forest land to tribals.

Previously, in another protest organised by AIKS, last year, it is speculated that more than 30,000 farmers participated.

That protest ended when the government gave in written to fulfil their demands within 3 months. However, that didn’t happen.
