In a significant administrative reshuffle, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath transferred as many as 48 IAS officers, including 24 district collectors.

Senior officer Manoj Shrivastava, who was seen as close to RSS, and was appointed as Vice Chancellor of Sanchi University has been moved from commercial tax to the animal husbandry department.

Manu Shrivastava, Principal Secretary, Renewable energy, has replaced him.

The district collectors of Indore, Dhar, Ratlam and Katni were retained, Rewa collector Preeti Maithil has been transferred to Sagar.

Before the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Priti Maithil had allegedly asked where EVMs were kept with the intention of  “shooting” anyone who tries to breach the security.

Tarun Pithode, Collector of Sehore has also been shifted to Betul.

Shrinivas Sharma has been moved to Chhindwara. Also, Bharat Yadav has been made Gwalior collector.

Priyanka Das was been shifted to Morena and Ashish Saxena has replaced her in Hoshangabad.

Surprisingly, Kamal Nath has retained Ashok Barnwal who served as the principal secretary of Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He will serve the same role.

P Narhari is also retained as Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Public Relations Department and Managing Director of Madhyam.

During the election campaigning, Kamal Nath had repeatedly reprimanded the bureaucrats claiming that “severe action will be taken” against those who exhibit partisan behavior.
