On the occasion of 5th International Yoga Day, President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday said that the day is celebrated across the nation, is not just an event rather a way to make it an integral part of one’s routine.

Speaking in the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the national capital, President Ram Nath Kovind said, ‘The International Yoga Day is celebrated in Rashtrapati Bhawan since 2015. Just Like the previous year, I am happy that the International Yoga Day is being celebrated here this year too’. He added that the day is not just an event but rather a way to make Yoga an integral part of everyone’s routine.

‘My best wishes to all the people who practice yoga all over the world on International Yoga Day. Yoga is a gift from Bharat to the whole of humanity; It is the key to a healthy life and the right balance between mind and body. Let’s be part of the celebration of Yoga – President Kovind’, tweeted President Office.

The theme of the 5th International Yoga Day is ‘Climate Change’.

While similar events were organized across the nation by the Central along with State Governments including the mega one in Ranchi where PM Modi performed Yoga.

Speaking on the occasion of 5th International Yoga Day, PM Narendra Modi said our focus should be on the wellness as well as protection from illness.  He said Let our Motto be Yoga for peace, harmony, and progress.

Addressing over 30,000 people at the Prabhat Tara Ground in Ranchi, PM Narendra Modi thanked all the people around the globe for joining the celebrations of the International Yoga Day. He further said that the very first sunrays are welcomed by the Yoga Practitioners. I also all of you to embrace it and try to make this a part of your daily routine.

The First International Day of Yoga was celebrated on June 21, 2015, all over the World were PM Modi along with 30,000 performed yoga at the Rajpath in the national capital. Last year, the mega event was organized in Dehradun. PM Modi along with 50,000 performed Yoga last time at Forest Research Institute.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the idea of celebrating International Yoga Day first time during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on 27 September 2014.
