India here on Tuesday told Russian’s joint Military exercise about its strong opposition with Pakistan, saying that any further Military Cooperation would only cause problems.

Indian Ambassador to Moscow Pankaj Saran said in an interview, “We have conveyed our views to the Russian side that military cooperation with Pakistan, which is a State that sponsors and practices terrorism as a matter of State policy is a wrong approach and it will only create further problems”.

This statement from Pankaj Saran came ahead of bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narender Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin, who will be arriving in India on October 14 for the BRICS summit in Goa.

Talking about Indo-Russia relations, Saran said that these two nations share a very special and strategic partnership.

“We have a regular system of military exercises with Russia. We have been holding these exercises for the last few years with Russia and we will continue to do so,” he further added.

He also talked about India’s cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, civil nuclear sector with Russia.
