Maharashtra polls took place on October 21 in which BJP bagged the maximum number of seats. BJP won 105 seats while Shiv Sena secured victory on 56 seats. Nationalist Congress Party won on 54 seats and Congress party came on the fourth position by securing 44 seats. Maharashtra went to the polls for its 288 assembly seats. The state recorded an estimated turnout of 59.08 percent, down from the 63.38 percent logged in 2014.
Due to no clear majority by the single party, BJP is finding itself on a backfoot and therefore the party is looking for the support from the outsiders actively.
Previously on Saturday, MLAs Ashish Jaiswal and Narendra Bhondekar had extended their support to the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena.
