On the second death anniversary of the former president, APJ Abdul Kalam, PM Modi will inaugurate Kalam’s memorial in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu. He will interact with his family and will offer a floral tribute to the memorial.

He will distribute sanction letters to the beneficiaries of long liner trawlers under ‘Blue Revolution’ scheme and also flag off a new express train from Ayodhya to Rameswaram via video conference.
The inaugural special, train no. 06793 will leave Rameswaram at 12.30 pm on Thursday, Chennai Egmore at 3.20 am on July 28 and reach Faizabad at 11 pm on July 29. Advance reservation for the inaugural is open already. The regular service of the train will commence on 6 August. The composition of the train will be one AC 2-tier, two AC 3-tier, eight sleeper class, four general second class, one pantry car and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches with accommodation for differently abled.

Later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the much awaited newly laid Dhanushkodi road, which linked the abandoned pilgrim town, more than five decades ago after it was devastated in the 1964 cyclonic storm.Mr. Modi would inaugurate the road in the presence of Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami while addressing a public meeting near Mandapam camp. The total cost of this three-year long road project is  ₹70 crores.
