Gujarat is all geared up to chose its next Chief Minister, with the first phase of the process already completed on 9 Dec, when Saurashtra and south Gujarat region went to polls. 14 Dec is the day when the rest of the constituencies will face the elections and 18 Dec is the D-day when the fate of BJP and Congress, in the long run, will be decided.

With only two days left for the next polling in Gujarat, both BJP and Congress leaders are on their toes holding multiple rallies and meetings. Also, is the same with the star campaigners of both the major political parties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi for BJP and Congress President Rahul Gandhi for the opposition party. Though the road shows that both the leaders were planning to hold, were canceled after the Gujarat police denied the permission in wake of law and order concerns, but still a number of rallies are still scheduled for them.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, frantically campaigning for BJP, on Tuesday morning took off from Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad in a seaplane for Dharoi Dam about 180 km away, from where PM Modi will visit the famous Ambaji temple in Mehsana. Today is the last day of campaigning for the Gujarat assembly elections. He will fly back to Ahmedabad from the same route. The seaplane takeoff was a plan-B for the BJP after the roadshow was canceled. Apart from the election campaign, the other main motive for this seaplane campaigning is to capture the attention of the Gujaratis towards the development work done by the BJP and also giving a befitting reply to the Congress, who is running the entire campaigning on the failed Gujarat model strategy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday evening announced his seaplane journey on Twitter. Taking a dig at the Congress for continuously targetting the BJP on the failed Gujarat model he said that “With air, roads & rail connectivity, our Government is making efforts for harnessing waterways. All this is for 125 crore Indians. The transformation across Gujarat is for everyone to see. Sadly, Congress’ notion of development is making a quick buck and that is why they are unable to see any change for the better.”

While Narendra Modi took off in the seaplane opting for plan-B, Congress President Rahul Gandhi swapped the roadshow plan with a press conference that he will address in Ahmedabad at 1 pm.

The Patidar agitation spearheads Hardik Patel, commenting on Modi’s choice of transport said “he’s happy that India has its first seaplane, adding that such technology could be used to benefit farmers in spraying their crops with fertilizers without consuming too much time.”

Meanwhile, Union Minister  Nitin Gadkari targetting the opposition said that “As per rules and regulations, PM can use any transport facility (seaplane), it has nothing to do with Gujarat Election 2017. If Rahul Gandhi wants he can also use it, no politics in it.”
