New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has said that more than 6.31 lakh healthcare workers are vaccinated for COVID-19 in India.
The cumulative number of healthcare workers vaccinated against COVID-19 has touched 6,31,417(till 6 pm) through 11,660 sessions, as per the provisional report. 3,800 sessions were held till 6 pm on Tuesday, informed the ministry.
A total of 1,77,368 beneficiaries were vaccinated till 6 pm on Tuesday, the fourth day of nationwide COVID-19 vaccination.
A total of only nine AEFI have required hospitalization. In Delhi, three cases have been discharged whereas one case is under observation at Rajiv Gandhi, Hospital Shahdara. One more AEFI case from Uttarakhand has been discharged. In Kanotheraka, one person is discharged and another person is stable and under observation at District Hospital, Chitradurga. In Chhattisgarh also, one person is discharged. In Rajasthan, one case is of suspected anaphylaxis is fine and under observation at District Hospital, Bangar.
Meanwhile, India registered 13,823 fresh cases of coronavirus which pushed the total tally to 1,05,95,660 in the nation. The active cases now stand at 1,97,201. With 16,988 new recoveries, as far as 1,02,45,741 patients recovered, and with 162 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 1,52,718, as per Union Health Ministry.
As per the Indian were Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 18,85,66,947 samples were tested for COVID-19 up to 18 January, of which 7,64,120 samples were tested yesterday.
As per ANI, the first consignment of 1 lakh dosages of Covishield vaccine, by Serum Institute of India, to be dispatched from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to Malé in Maldives shortly. Also, a consignment of 1.5 lakh dosages of Covishield vaccine was dispatched from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to Thimphu in Bhutan on Wednesday.
As per the official release from the government, India has received several requests for the supply of Indian manufactured vaccines from neighboring and key partner countries. In response to these requests, and in keeping with India’s stated commitment to using India’s vaccine production and delivery capacity to help all of humanity fights the COVID-19 pandemic, supplies under grant assistance to Bhutan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, and Seychelles will begin from 20 January 2021. In respect of Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Mauritius, we are awaiting their confirmation of necessary regulatory clearances.
