His remarks left the opposition squirming in Lok Sabha but were greeted by cheers from the treasury benches with the PM acknowledging Yadav’s “blessings” with folded hands.

‘PM ko badhaai dena chahta hun ki PM ne sabko saath lekar chalne ka pura prayas kiya. Main chahta hun, meri kamna hai ki saare sadsya phir se jeet kar aayen aur aap (PM) dobara pradhan mantri banein’ [I want to congratulate PM for making an attempt to take everyone along, I wish that all members come back to the House and You (Modi) become PM again) said SP stalwart that draw applause from the BJP members who are in a majority in the House.

Samajwadi Party Leader Ravidas Mehrotra said, ‘ I don’t have knowledge about the context in which Neta Ji said it. But we want change of government at center. PM himself will lose from his constituency’

However, other Samajwadi Party Leaders also seems disagreed with the statement. Stauch Leader Azam Khan said Mulayam Singh was forced to give such statements.

NCP MP Supriya Sule said, ‘I have heard that respected Mulayam Singh ji had said the same thing for Manmohan Singh ji in 2014’

Amar Singh slammed Mulayam Singh and termed it as an attempt to escape CBI and ED probe. He said, ‘It’s just to create confusion to ensure that Chandrakala, & Rama Raman who looted Noida under the guidance of both Mulayam&Mayawati are saved & Modi ji gets neutralized’.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded Mulayam Singh Yadav’s statement and said His son (Akhilesh Yadav) should also accept this.

Mulayam Singh Yadav’s remarks came at the backdrop when both SP-BSP alliance trade barbs on BJP for blocking Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow Airport when he was going to attend a University Function in Allahabad.

The Samajwadi Party, which is led by Mulayam’s son Akhilesh Yadav, has joined hands with the BSP in Uttar Pradesh to take on the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
