While addressing the “Yoga for Peace” programme in Argentina, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, said “Yoga is bridging the vast distance between India and Argentina”.
While calling Yoga a way to connect humanity, Modi said, “Yoga is India’s gift to the world for health, wellness and peace. It connects us with wellness and happiness.”
Modi said, “Yoga is bridging the vast distance between India and Argentina. It is connecting the two countries and their people.”
Addressing Yoga event’s participants, Modi said, “I have just arrived in Argentina a few hours ago, after travelling about 15,000 kilometres with more than 24 hours. Just because of your love and enthusiasm, I am not at all feeling like I’m outside of India.”
Modi tweeted: “Thousands of kilometres apart, yet bound together by the spirit of oneness! Extremely grateful to the Indian community for the memorable welcome in Argentina.”
Modi praised the organizers of the “Yoga for peace” event and said it was hard to think of another better name for the event. Modi said, “Yoga keeps both your body and mind healthy. It strengthens your body and keeps your mind at peace.”
In a tweet, Modi wrote: “The ‘Yoga for Peace’ programme in Buenos Aires was special. Glad to see the immense popularity of Yoga among the people, especially the youth, of Argentina. Talked about how Yoga is a means to wellness and brings societies together.”
Modi asserted if our mind will stay at peace, there would be peace in society, family, country and also world.
Prime Minister said, “It’s a matter of pride and happiness for us that Argentina is hosting the G20 summit. Issues such as global economy, sustainable development, climate change, and fugitive economic offenders will be discussed during the summit. These are in the interest of the entire world, and not just India and Argentina.”
Modi also gave greetings to Argentina hockey team for winning its first match of Hockey World Cup held in Orissa, India.
