Nitish Kumar

Recently the rumor is floating in the air that JD(U) led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may end its coalition with Congress and RJD. The suspicion were triggered by few actions taken by Kumar like, supporting BJP for demonetisation, backing the NDA candidate for the presidential polls, and attending the launch of GST.

However, Nitish Kumar on Monday denied any such rumours saying that the Mahagathbandhan with RJD and Congress is intact. He said that there are no issues between Congress and JDU. He also cleared that the rumors were in regards to his statements made during the party meeting on Sunday, but those statements were in a particular context and should not be interpreted in any other way.

Bihar CM also disagreed to any such possibility of him being the next PM face of the UPA for the elections due in 2019. He said “I am not the PM face of opposition in 2019, neither am I eligible.”

Though, in spite of  showing his continued coalition with Congress, he urged to the party that it should present an alternative narrative as Congress is a big party and only reactive narrative and talks of unity won’t work.

Kumar also said that JDU would surely attend the “BJP hatao, desh bachao” rally, scheduled to be held on August 27 in Patna by RJD, if they get the invitation.
