Starting a series of dramatic events to be unfolded, Nitish Kumar, on Wednesday evening, resigned from his post of Bihar’s chief minister. The announcement was speculated to end the coalition with Lalu Yadav’s RJD. The government of Bihar has been under severe criticism lately for alleged charges of corruption on the deputy chief minister, Tejashwi Yadav.

The events unfolded rather quickly on Wednesday and within a couple of hours of the resignation, BJP had announced its support to JD(U) for forming the government in Bihar.

Speaking on the development, Nitish Kumar stated that the decision was taken after listening to his conscience. He also stated that the environment within the state government was not positive for him to remain motivated and work for the betterment of the state.

Nitish Kumar had been trying to figure out a solution for the problem which arose after name of Tejashwi Yadav came in the corruption charges. He had left the decision on Lalu Yadav, however, at the same time, Lalu Yadav had made it clear that Tejashwi Yadav would not resign.
