Flights

Ashok Ganapathi Raju, union minister for civil aviation, has unveiled country’s first no-fly list today. According to the rules mentioned, domestic passengers travelling within the country can be barred from flying in domestic carriers for a time period ranging from 3 months to three years.

The extent of punishment is given under three different levels. The unruly passengers, accused of not following the aviation rules or misbehaving with their co-passengers or the staff will be barred from flying for three months on the first instance. If the behaviour is repeated for the second time, the time period will extend to six months and on the third repetition, the same will be extended to two years or more.

The aviation minister also added that the system will keep a close watch on the list and no-fly list will be implemented strictly. The flyers will not be able to fly to an international destination and get to his original destination in order to do away with the ban.

The rules on the list have been implemented immediately and a more detailed version of the same will be available on the website of aviation ministry soon. Yesterday, we had reported that the aviation ministry is making it mandatory to quote an ID number while booking ticket, however, there was no word on that.
