Right after Kolkata police officers detained CBI officers outside police commissioner Rajeev Kumar’s residence, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday rushed to Loudon Street and announced that she would sit on a ‘Save Democracy’ Dharna against the undemocratic attitude of the central investigating agency and the Modi-led government in the Centre.

Mamata further alleged that NSA chief Ajit Doval was “giving instructions” to CBI and PM Modi to take action against TMC leaders and policemen.

While asserting that it is her duty to protect to her Officers, Chief Minister said, ‘CBI came to Rajeev Kumar’s house without a search warrant. How audacious it was? They are playing with the Constitution. I will not tolerate this.

A Day earlier Chief Bureau of Investigation claimed that West Bengal Police Commissioner Kumar had been “absconding” and “being looked for” in connection with Saradha and Rose Valley ponzi scam cases. However, as soon as CBI landed in Mamata’s Bastion on Sunday, a team of West Bengal Officers rushed to meet CBI Team to enquire whether they have the documents to held questions to West Bengal Police Commissioner Kumar.

Later on, the CBI Team was taken to Shakespeare Sarani police station and the commotion started.

Mamata Banerjee late on Sunday arrived Kumar’s residence and announced ‘Save Democracy Rally’. Parties Official Twitter Handle quoting Mamata Banerjee said, ‘Organise rallies tomorrow between 2-4 PM in every block of the State. Wear black badges and carry black flags to register your protest We are not afraid. If he wants to impose President’s Rule, we will see. We have to ensure Modi is ousted from power in 2019’.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that the entire opposition will stand together and “defeat the fascist forces”

RJD Leader Tejaswhi Yadav also lashed out at Centre for misusing CBI.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also extended her support to her West Bengal counterpart.

Yashwant Sinha also racked up and alleged Modi government of destroying institutions.

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal tweeted to support her West Bengal counterpart.

In the latest Development, CBI filed a Plea in Supreme Court on Monday.
