Pakistan on Thursday suspended ‘Samjhuata Express’ amidst the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. Pakistan’s decision to halt Samjhauta Express came days after Indian Air Force carried out unprecedented Air Strikes across Line Of Control destroying Balakot Terror Launch Pads. As per reports, 12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the operation that dropped 1000 kgs of Bomb across LoC in early hours of the Tuesday, Feb 26 completely destroying the Terror Camps.

Samjhauta Express or the peace train is a bi-weekly train that runs on Wednesdays and Sundays between Delhi and Atari in India and Lahore in Pakistan respectively. The train comprises of six-sleeper coaches and an AC-tier coach. The train departs from Old Delhi Railway station at 11.10 pm on two days within a week.

Pakistan’s action to put a halt on Samjhauta Express came a day after Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday announced that India has no plan to suspend the Train Service. ‘We have not yet received any instructions from the authorities about any change to the current running of the Samjhauta Express, we will follow whatever directions are received in this regard’, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on Wednesday.

The Development came amidst the ongoing Tension between both the Countries, India and Pakistan. Pakistan on Thursday again violated the Ceasefire violation drawing strong retaliation from India.

A day after the Indian air strike on a terror camp in Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir saw heightened military activity on Wednesday, with Pakistani jets violating the Indian air space and dropping some bombs in Rajouri sector after which one of their fighters was shot down.

In a brief statement issued on Wednesday morning, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, “Pakistan has responded this morning by using its Air Force to target military installations on the Indian side. Due to our high state of readiness and alertness, Pakistan’s attempts were foiled successfully.”

Indian Air Force on Tuesday carried out unprecedented Air Strikes across LoC destroying Balakot JeM Terror Camp. As per reports, 12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the operation that dropped 1000 kgs of Bomb across LoC in early hours of the Tuesday, Feb 26 completely destroying the Terror Camps situated in Balakot. Pakistan hasn’t acknowledged the attack, however, the world media and world leaders have been appealing the country to take strict measures to ensure eliminations of terror camps within Pakistan.

Pakistan has also suspended any kind of operation over its Air base and the same remains suspended for the second day in a row.
