Paytm Payments Bank, which commenced its operations yesterday, has appointed two new independent directors on board. The new directors include PV Bhaskar, former executive director of Reserve Bank of India and GS Sundarajan, former director of Shriram Group. The board now includes 5 members including Vijay Shekhar Sharma, CEO Renu Satti and Paytm co-founder Ash Lilani.

On Tuesday, Paytm Payments Bank had held its first meeting to formally announce the operations. Vijay Shekhar Sharma will work as the non-executive chairman of the board. Renu Satti will be the director on board whereas rest 3 are independent directors.

With over 3 years of banking experience, PV Bhaskar headed central security cell at reserve bank of India. Along with that, he was also responsible for overseeing Departments of Banking & Non Banking supervisions.

GS Sundarajan joined Shriram group as an MD of Shriram Capital, the financial services business division of the group.

Ash Lilani headed India and China market for US based Silicon Valley Bank. His firm played the role of an early investor in One97 Communications.
