NEW DELHI: People, including activists, had reached Rashtrapati Bhavan to submit petitions against RTI Amendment Bill to President Ram Nath Kovind. They were detained on August 1 afternoon.
Activist Anjali Bhardwaj had asked people to gather outside the Rashtrapati Bhavan at 12 p.m. Her tweet said, “Police is detaining everyone who wants to petition the President to withhold his assent to the #RTIAmendments. No right to even peacefully submit a petition the President in our country now?? Is this democracy?
