On Sunday in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 81 projects worth ₹60,000 crores in a ”groundbreaking ceremony”. These projects were included in the 1,045 MoUs signed at the Uttar Pradesh Investors’ Summit organised in February this year.

During the launch, PM said, “These projects will prove to be a big step in giving a new direction to Digital India and Make in India. Be it setting up of fibre or establishment of IT centre for internet service in Uttar Pradesh, digital infrastructure will give a new direction, new pace to the state”.

Uttar Pradesh Minister for Industries Satish Mahana said that these ventures have a potential of generating over 2 lakh new jobs in the state.

The event was attended by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and by 80 leading industrialists, including Kumar Mangalam Birla chairman of Aditya Birla group, Gautam Adani,chairman of Adani group, Subhash Chandra, chairman of Essel group and Sanjeev Puri, MD, ITC, and other barons from top business houses, reported PTI.

Modi in his speech said, “Today the nation is becoming a hub of mobile manufacturing for the world. Uttar Pradesh is leading this manufacturing revolution. More than 50 mobile manufacturing company are working in UP and the largest mobile manufacturing unit in the world has also been established here.”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also addressed the audience and said, “Uttar Pradesh has been successful in attaining a position in top 5 states in the country in terms of ease of doing business. When BSP was in power, Rs 50,000 crore was invested in 5 years, while the BJP govt. has invested Rs.60,000 crore in just 1 year. Also, more proposals worth Rs.50,000 Cr are in pipeline which will be started soon”, reported Zee News.

This was the second time the PM met his “industrial friends” in Lucknow. He called the projects ‘unimaginable achievement’ for the state and its people.
