Today PM Narendra Modi went to the constituency, that he represents, Varanasi and Flagged-off World’s first Diesel to Electric converted locomotive, along with the announcements of various other development projects.

PM Modi was also accompanied by UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
It was built by Diesel Loco Works(DSL) at Varanasi, under the ‘Make in India’ banner by PM Narendra Modi.
Other engineers from Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Chiitaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)
The project was sanctioned earlier in 2017, when it was decided by Railways to go for 100% electric traction. 108 locos were sanctioned by Railway Minister to be converted, in one year.
The 2612 horsepower diesel loco was converted into a 5000 horsepower electric locomotive at a cost of Rs 3.79 crore.
The converted locomotive will work as a twin loco of 10,000 HP.
The engine previously travelled at the maximum permissible speed of 75 km/ph.
The officials said that DLW completed the work in a record time of 69 days.
The PM is also seen at a rally addressing the crowd of Varanasi , he mentioned his ‘visions’ and achievements of his government in the office. He announced several ‘initiatives’ and ‘projects’ and further applauded several previous ‘schemes’ and ‘measures’.
According to PM Narendra Modi, the government ensured measures to punish the corrupt and reward the honest.
He inaugurated 2 escalators and a lift at Varanasi Junction.
Modi also laid foundation stone for Guru Ravidas Birthplace Development Project
He also met people with ‘special abilities’ in his Varanasi visit.
