Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday chaired a crucial meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security in the national capital amid the ongoing political tension in Jammu and Kashmir.
A high-level meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) was attended by Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar and Ravi Shankar Prasad.
Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is among the eight committees formed by the Centre.
PM Modi also chaired a Union Cabinet meeting at PM Modi’s Official residence, at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in the national capital.

The development comes on the backdrop when Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in the Jammu and Kashmir. In the meantime, authorities have also issued an order banning Mobile internet and landline phone connections in the valley. While public meetings or rallies have been banned in the State.
In a quick turn of events on Sunday, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Sajad Lone – the three prominent faces of Jammu and Kashmir politics were allegedly put under house arrest.
