Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged people around Globe to embrace Yoga and include it in their daily routine. Speaking on the occasion of 5th International Yoga Day, PM Modi said our focus should be on the wellness as well as protection from illness.  He said Let our Motto be Yoga for peace, harmony, and progress.

Addressing over 30,000 people at the Prabhat Tara Ground in Ranchi, PM Narendra Modi thanked all the people around the globe for joining the celebrations of the International Yoga Day. He further said that the very first sunrays are welcomed by the Yoga Practitioners. I also all of you to embrace it and try to make this a part of your daily routine.

He further said just like we keep updating our phones, we should also get knowledge about Yoga. Prime Minister further maintained that Yoga is beyond the distinction of Caste, Rich, Poor, Creed, Cult.

He also greeted People in the local people and said, ‘There is s close relation between Yoga and Nature and Ranchi has a lot of forests and is close to nature’. On the Occasion, he was accompanied by Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubhar Das, Minister of State (Independent) for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik, and Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu, and Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi.

The theme of the 5th International Yoga Day was ‘Climate Change’.

While similar events were organized across the nation by the Central along with State Governments.

The First International Day of Yoga was celebrated on June 21, 2015, all over the World were PM Modi along with 30,000 performed yoga at the Rajpath in the national capital. Last year, the mega event was organized in Dehradun. PM Modi along with 50,000 performed Yoga last time at Forest Research Institute.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the idea of celebrating International Yoga Day first time during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on 27 September 2014.
