The City of Waterfalls, Ranchi, is all set to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the mega event of the International Yoga Day which is slated for Friday, June 21. The Streets and the lanes of the city have been flooded with banners and holdings welcoming the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The event is scheduled to be held at the Prabhat Tara Maidan.

Security has been beefed up in the city keeping in mind that over 30,000 people are expected to join the mega event. ‘In Jharkhand, all eyes are on Ranchi, as the city prepares to host the main national event of IDY on 21st June 2019’, tweeted Ministry of Ayush.

‘The Prabhat Tara Maidan is a hub of activities, as various arrangements for the mass Yoga demonstration of nearly 30,000 people led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi fall in place’, it said in another tweet.

While similar events will be organized across all parts of India by the Central along with State Governments.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das talking to media said that the people of Jharkhand are very aware of Health and Yoga. ‘Over 1 Lakh people would take part and do Yoga with Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow at Prabhat Tara Maidan’, Chief Minister said.

The First International Day of Yoga was celebrated on June 21, 2015, all over the where were PM Modi along with 30,000 performed yoga at the Rajpath in the national capital. Last year, the mega event was organized in Dehradun. PM Modi along with 50,000 performed Yoga last time at Forest Research Institute.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the idea of celebrating International Yoga Day first time during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on 27 September 2014.
