Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi on Friday met UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi at her official residence in the national capital ahead of Parliament Session. Joshi on the occasion was accompanied by Minister of State (MoS) Arjun Ram Meghwal and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar.

“Met @INCIndia leader Smt.Sonia Gandhi Ji along with @nstomar in the capacity of parliamentary affairs minister seeking co-operation for upcoming parliament sessions. I also congratulated her for victory in the election. @arjunrammeghwal was also present during this visit’, tweeted Union Minister Prahlad Joshi sharing the pictures of the meeting.

Union Ministers presented Sonia Gandhi with a bouquet and sought cooperation from her in the coming Parliamentary Session.

Sonia Gandhi was elected as Congress Parliamentary Party Leader on June 1 in an official meeting of all 52 MLAs, and many senior Leaders of the party.

The first Session for 17th Lok Sabha will begin from June 17th and will continue till July 26. President Ram Nath Kovind will address the joint session of both the houses of parliament on 20th June.

While Economic Survey will be released on the 4th of July a day before. While next day, that is on July 5th, new Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the full-fledged budget in the House.

The government had in February this year presented an Interim Budget.

Election to elect a new Speaker of the House will be held on June 19th. Both the Houses – Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha – will take on the motion of thanks and PM Modi will reply on the same.

While the Upper House of the Parliament, Rajya Sabha will host its session from June 20 to July 26.
