Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, 8 March is expected to inaugurate the 6.6-km Delhi Metro Blue Line extension , official sources said. The PM is also scheduled to inaugurate the 9.4Km long Dilshad-New bus ‘Adda’, which is an extension of the red Line.

The newly constructed metro is fully-elevated.It is considered to render its service between Noida City Centre and Noida Electronic City.

It consists of six stations — Sector 34, Sector 52, Sector 61, Sector 59, Sector 62 and Noida Electronic City.

On Monday, the commissioner of Metro rail safety had inspected the 6.675 km long Noida City Centre to Noida Electronic City section of Delhi Metro’s Blue Line.

The newly extended Blue Line corridor is likely to bring the Blue Line close to the recently opened Aqua Line, which connects Noida and Greater Noida.

Sector-52 station of the DMRC’s Blue Line is almost 300 m away from the Aqua Line’s Sector-51 station operated by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC).

The Red Line extension, also likely to be inaugurated by the PM this week which comprises of eight stations — Shahid Nagar, Raj Bagh, Rajendra Nagar, Shyam Park, Mohan Nagar, Arthala, Hindon River Station and New Bus Adda.

The Delhi Metro’s current operational span is 327 km with 236 stations. After opening of the two corridors, it is expected to be over 342 km with 250 stations.
