Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi was attacked on Friday during his visit to flood affected Dhanera town in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district. A cemented brick was pelted at Rahul’s car shattering its window glasses and black-flag waving crowds was shouting slogans in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Condemning the attack on Rahul’s convoy Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala accused Gujarat Prime Minister Vijay Rupani saying that it was deliberate attack panned by BJP and RSS and that the PM himself shielded the goons to attack Rahul. He also added that Congress had lodged a complaint of ‘murderous assault’ against four BJP workers, but the police have not registered a FIR till now. He further accused that BJP-led Gujarat administration was deliberately ignoring the protocol that is followed in case of an SPG protectee, as Rahul Gandhi is.
Surjewala further attacking JP and RSS the followers of Nathuram Godse said that “Let’s tell them that Godsewaad did not succeed in 1948, and it would neither succeed now. It is Gandhiwaad that has prevailed and will prevail.”
Rahul also on Saturday said on Saturday that the attack was done by BJP and RSS workers and this was BJP and PM Narendra Modi’s way of politics.
Another Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma said that Congress was a 140 years old party and it will not get scared and intimidated by such attacks.
