Now the strength of the Shiv Sena-led team has reached a figure of 64 seats in the state assembly. From the past few days, Shiv Sena and BJP can be seen at loggerheads over the formation of the government. Owing to the unsettled issue of the power-sharing agreement, the government is not being formed. In the meantime, both parties are actively pushing to inculcate the support of independent candidates to increase their tally.

Previously, Shiv Sena had also released a list of seven candidates that have extended their support after the announcement of election results. The list is as follows-

In the recently held polls, BJP secured 105 seats while Shiv Sena sealed the victory on 56 seats. Both the parties have fought the elections in an alliance- Mahayuti alliance. Even after the strained relations over the last few weeks, the leaders of both parties have assured the people that a stable government will be installed soon.

Shiv Sena is demanding the execution of 50:50 formula as promised by Home Minister Amit Shah during the Lok Sabha campaign 2019. According to it, power has to be shared between the two parties for a rotational basis. However, the Bhartiya Janta Party has made it clear that the CM post will be given to Devendra Fadnavis only.

Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut had also said that his party has the support of around 170 MLAs, which was a surprising statement. The leader also met the governor BS Koshyari earlier to discuss the political atmosphere of the state.
