Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday asked the Border Forces, especially BSF to be more vigilant along the Indo-Pak Borders and ready to give a befitting reply to any ceasefire violation or firing from the Pakistani side while ensuring the safety of civilians.

Amidst the ongoing Tension between India and Pakistan, Rajnath Singh chaired a High-level security review meeting on Wednesday. “No action, whether direct or sponsored, is ruled out by the Indian establishment and accordingly measures are being put in place to prevent such incidents with actionable intelligence,” said an officer who attended the meeting.

The Security review meeting called by Home Minister was also attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Director Generals of Central para-military forces including BSF and CRPF, chiefs of Intelligence Bureau and RAW and other senior officers of the security establishment.

According to Sources, a High Alert has been sounded in border villages of LoC region. BSF has been asked to be extra vigilant to track down any activity and ready for any effective response to ceasefire violation by Pakistani Forces. Border Security Forces (BSF) also been asked to alert to infiltration attempts by terrorists to escalate a proxy war, said a Home Ministry Official.

Sources further revealed that BSF has been asked to ensure that civilians should not be targeted in border firing/shelling by Pakistani forces, particularly in the Jammu region.

A high-level meeting was called after amidst the escalating tension between India and Pakistan. A day after the Indian air strike on a terror camp in Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir saw heightened military activity on Wednesday, with Pakistani jets violating the Indian air space and dropping some bombs in Rajouri sector after which one of their fighters was shot down.

Indian Air Force on Tuesday carried out unprecedented Air Strikes across LoC destroying Balakot JeM Terror Camp. As per reports, 12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the operation that dropped 1000 kgs of Bomb across LoC in early hours of the Tuesday, Feb 26 completely destroying the Terror Camps.
