The Sunni Waqf board of Uttar Pradesh, who was the main litigant in the Ayodhya case said on Tuesday that they will not be challenging the decision of Supreme Court and refrain from filing a review petition.

Sunni Waqf Board’s Abdul Raza khan said, “Majority decision in our meeting is that review petition in Ayodhya case should not be filed.

Decision on the five-acre alternative land will be taken by the board after the government offers them formally.

Earlier, Sunni Waqf Board lawyer Zafaryab Jilani said they were not satisfied with the Supreme Court court verdict that has ruled to give the disputed land in Ayodhya to the Hindus for a temple and that Muslims be given five acres of alternate land for a mosque.

The five-judge Supreme Court bench ordered that the disputed Ayodhya land must be given to Hindus for a temple to be built at the site by forming a trust under the control of the Central government. The government has to formulate a scheme on it within three months.
