Ravi Shankar Prasad urges for fast-track hearing in Ayodhya title dispute

Union Minister for Law and Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad urged the Supreme Court on Monday to fast-track the hearing of Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute.

Inaugurating the 15th National Conference of the Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad(ABVP)- the student wing of RSS, he said that if the fast-paced hearing can happen in the Sabarimala issue then why not in the matter of Ayodhya which has been pending since 70 years.

He appealed to the apex court in his personal capacity to hear the case in a fast-track court for rapid disposal of the issue.

Also, Supreme Court Justice M R Shah and Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court Govind Mathur were present at the occasion. Prasad also said that “why should we worship Babar.”

He showed a copy of the Constitution of India on the event and claimed that there is a mention of Ram, Krishna as well as Akbar in the constitution but not Babar. He added that if people talk about such things in the country, it leads to a different kind of controversy.

At the event, he also promised of introducing an All India Judicial Services System in India for the appointment of judges in the future.

Also, he appealed the Adhivakta Parishad to make sure that the cases related to the poor and needy people are heard in a fast-paced manner.
