Days after Karnataka Cabinet Expansion, dissent within Indian National Congress is growing over the allotments of Cabinet Berths to the lawmakers. Several Congress Legislators have been voicing their view in expressing their reservations over the basis of which the ministerial positions have been assigned.

Former Transport Minister R Ramalinga Reddy questioned the criteria of allocating the Cabinet Berths and said, “Juniors should become ministers, but 4-5 who became ministers before, they’re still in Cabinet. I have been denied a post for being senior. If that was the parameter for not making me a minister, then why that is not applicable to Parameshwara (deputy chief minister), DK Shivakumar (water resource minister), Krishna Byregowda (law and panchayat minister) and a few others?”

In a recent Cabinet Reshuffle and Expansion, the two ministers have been dropped from the cabinet. The Two Ministers includes Municipal Administration Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi and Forest Minister R Shankar. Jarkiholi has been allegedly socializing with BJP leaders, so he will be replaced by his brother Satish Jarkiholi. Shankar, on the other hand, will be replaced by CS Shivali.

A Day after Jarkiholi dropped from Karnataka, Leaders alleged audio clip being circulated where he reportedly said that he and others would resign and people would get to see the changes within a week. Jarkiholi had been unhappy ever since the coalition government took over.

While Ramesh Jarkiholi has been given a cabinet berth on the same day of Cabinet Expansion.

While another who dropped from the Cabinet, R Shankar said he will not hesitate to join forces with the Bhartiya Janata Party.

In the Meanwhile, amid dissent in INC Camp. Bhartiya Janata Party on Monday said that Party would rather ‘wait and watch’ and getting a bad name of toppling game.

However, former chief minister Siddaramaiah and coordinator of the ruling coalition government on Sunday rubbished any rebellion from MLAs in the party. He said: “There is no discontent in the party and nobody will resign. His (Ramesh Jarkiholi) brother (Satish) has been made minister from his family.”
