SabarimalaThe Kerala High Court on Tuesday ordered that no more protests should be held at the Sabarimala temple during the ongoing pilgrimage season.

Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB),which manages the Lord Ayyappa shrine in the Sabarimala temple, has decided to approach SC to seek more time to implement the September 28 verdict which revoked the ban on women of menstruating age to enter Sabarimala.

The Board president A Padma Kumar said that the decision was taken following a tacit nod given by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan in the wake of an all-party-meeting and the talks with the thantri and Pandalam royal families. “If possible, we will move a petition in the Supreme Court either tomorrow or Monday,” he said adding the board wants devotees to have peaceful darshan.

SC is scheduled to hear petitions seeking review of the Sept 28 order in January, but has refused to stay it.
