In a major Setback to Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea filed by the politician in connection to the cases of fodder scam. Lalu Prasad Yadav moved to the Apex Court challenging the Jharkhand High Court‘s order that has rejected Bail of a plea of Yadav who is an accused in Fodder Scam.
Politician filed a Bail Petition in the Supreme Court citing his Health Issues and approaching General Elections to get bail.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Central Probing agency CBI filed a response in the apex court opposing the bail plea of RJD Chief. CBI in its counter affidavit stated that the politician been in the paying ward of the hospital in Ranchi is virtually conducting Political Activities from the paying ward of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi.

The Supreme Court earlier in March last month issued notice and asked CBI to furnish a response by April 9.
RJD Chief is currently lodged in a paying ward of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi. He is serving sentences in connection to the cases of multi-crore Fodder Scam.
Yadav cited his age, deteriorating health, and the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as grounds for seeking bail before the Top Court.
In the bail plea filed by the RJD Supremo, it has been stated that being the national Chief Of Rashtriya Janta Dal he is required to make preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. The Plea further added that his signature will be required to grant election symbols to candidates among other duties.
Lalu Yadav’s party RJD has forged an alliance with Congress and other allies in Bihar and Jharkhand.
