BJP Party President Amit Shah had kick-started the BJP Janaraksha Yatra in Kannur, Kerela on 2nd Oct and was scheduled to be in the state for three days.

The Janaraksha Yatra was targeted at the atrocities of the ruling government in Kerela accusing them of playing murder politics by killing the workers of BJP and RSS. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also participated in the rally on 4 Oct and protesting against the Pinarayi Vijayan government said that there is no place for violence in the democracy.

The Janrakhsha Yatra started by BJP is a 15-day long event and the party President was supposed to be addressing the Yatra for three days. However, he had to fly back to Delhi for the important work but was expected to come back on Thursday.

As per the latest updates, Shah called off his visit back to Kerela just as the rally on Thursday enters the hometown of the Chief Minister of the state citing some other important engagement in New Delhi. The party had announced that Shah would be joining the Yatra on Thursday, however, his absence speaks something else.

While launching the rally Shah had announced that BJP would organise a campaign against the CPI-M at the national level.

Expecting his return on Thursday heavy security arrangements were done and hundreds of policemen were deployed at key points, though everything went in vain as the BJP leader called his visit off.
